Ask Star Space: Top 5 Bay Area Restaurants to Doordash

We asked five Star Space community members for their favorite local lunch break spots.

If you’re anything like us, Doordash has been a lifesaver during COVID. Here are some of our favorite Bay Area restaurants to order from on Doordash. From iconic establishments to hidden gems, you might want to jot these down.

Iguana’s

Iguana’s is so much more than a burrito joint–it’s a San Jose icon and the home of the Burritozilla, the five-pound, 18-inch monster of a burrito that was featured on the Food Network’s Man v Food. This family-owned restaurant has become a mainstay at our space for a reason! You can’t go wrong with anything you order–just make sure to have a few napkins on hand. This is feel-good food at its best, perfect for a team lunch or solo desk break.

ChiMek

If you haven’t had Korean fried chicken yet, now’s your chance. ChiMek means chicken and beer, and it’s the best combination since PB&J. The chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and the drinks are always cold and refreshing. You can also choose from a variety of other dishes like tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and spicy pork belly. True comfort food is just a Doordash away!

Healthy and hearty? Sign us up. This Santa Clara restaurant founded by Bay Area locals specializes in Hainanese chicken and rice. The simple but delicious dishes star their perfectly tender chicken (or tofu) over a bed of greens or expertly seasoned rice. Order with caution though– this place is addicting!

We love it for its fresh ingredients, incredible flavor, generous portions, and quick order turnaround. Founded by Palestinian Emad Ibrahim in 2001, DishDash now has seven locations in the Bay Area–including a bakery. A favorite among teams, this Sunnyvale restaurant delivers consistently delicious food and exemplary customer service. Try DishDash for your next dinner with your family or roommates!

The dedicated team at Dumpling Capital meticulously crafts each order for freshness and quality that can’t be beaten. The inexpensive, but generously portioned dishes make this restaurant especially great for socially distanced team meetings outside on the patio.
